My stay away was extended with my appendix deciding to run wild, but I’m fully recovered now and spent today in the field after arriving back last night.

Most of the pans have dried up already and I hear they are going to start pumping water to the main ones tomorrow. That is good news for game viewing and photography. Water in pans means the game will congregate at the water sources.

This morning a few weeks ago the guineafowl were beside themselves with these jackals trying to chill out on the airstrip. Not surprising as only some days before the jackal had killed a guineafowl in the long grass.
