African Wild Dogs are seriously endangered. They are very susceptible to diseases like canine distemper (which they get from interaction with domestic dogs because their habitat is now so encroached by human habitation) and rabies. Their other big threat too is loss of habitat. They require such huge areas to traverse in but their habitat is being encroached on by man at an alarming rate. We are lucky here at Malilangwe Reserve to have a really healthy population of wild dogs. Be sure to check out our film project on Wildcast.net
