Another ‘cold’ day! Overcast and with a slight drizzle this morning, things were rather chilly out there, especially when one is used to temperatures in the hundreds.
It was a much welcome relief and the dogs were loving it too. The male had killed a young male impala, which the pups totally devoured.

Moving on from their they found a dead young male impala, probably killed by a leopard and dragged under a tree, hardly having been eaten. Well the dogs made short work of that too and all, including the adults, were now more than satiated. But it didn’t end there.

A few hundred meters further west they found an adult male impala already half eaten. I’m not sure who was the culprit there. But again the dogs took full advantage of it and somehow managed to finish it off, although this took some time as nobody was in any hurry.

The cool weather had the pups carrying on madly at play for ages and then suddenly all passing out. Well so I thought.
I left them all sleeping and must have been about 500m away when I heard this whining but with the vehicle noise didn’t think anything of it. It carried on and eventually looking back I saw all the pups running after the car just behind it. They are just so cool!!! I was going to call them cute, but actually they’re far more than that!
Of course the pack didn’t go hunting this evening although at one stage they almost looked interested and then all passed out again.
