Sunset Games: Video

They’re like clockwork dogs. Again they killed at dawn and back to Khayeni pan for the rest of the day.
While the pack lay around waiting Puzzles had been off doing her deed for the day. She killed a pregnant impala at dawn, then rushed back to the pack but didn’t feed the pups. Instead she got them to follow her north back to her kill. Some of the pups fought over the foetus while the rest tucked in the mother. With nothing left to talk of, the adults were allowed in to try and chew a few bones. Puzzles was well fed anyway from having eaten when she made the kill, but the male didn’t get much.

Team drink
The pack then took off back to Khayeni pan. I only got there just before them. A couple of impala had been in to drink and when the male dog saw them he gave chase. Puzzles joined in chasing the other impala. The male disappeared into the distance hot on the heels of the impala and Puzzles disappeared in the opposite direction after her victim. She came back about 5minutes later all bloody. Presumably she had killed ripped open the stomach, fed briefly and left the carcass.

Hooded Vulture
The male came back a few minutes later and but I’m not sure if he killed.
It really is odd that they will kill like this just for the sake of it so it seems. And it’s not the first time either.

Kids play
At dusk the pack got active again but only to play. Nobody was in the mood for hunting and they didn’t need to anyway.
