As I passed the air strip, I came across a large herd of impala. I stopped to watch them when this male trotted up to the herd giving a gargling sort of bleat. That is why his head is lifted in the photo. Some of the females were also bleating, sounding exactly like goats!

This zebra was doing something funny with his lips and caught my attention. He appears to be the stallion of the herd and the only thing I can think of was that he is performing flehmen. This is when he smells the urine of a female in heat and performs a weird movement with his lips.

The baboons were also on Banyini and some impala gathered under the trees where the baboons fed to collect any food the baboons dropped.

How can anyone agree to keep just one or two elephants in a zoo when you watch something like this showing a herd walking together? They are a large family unit and need to stay that way. Wonderful, very moving…
