The lions were at it again all night. Somewhere in the night the other male moved off.
At dawn Manyari was still mating, but the roles are now reversed, she’s following him.

Soon after sunrise he mated with her and then just left.
He left her rolling in the grass and didn’t look back. Typical guy, got what he wanted and then high tailed it out of there. Obviously he was now more interested in teaming up with his brother again.
Manyari realising he’d gone followed his trail east but after about an hour she gave up and rested in the shade of a Knobthorn tree.

Heading out yesterday afternoon the clouds had come in dark and low and provided a stunning backdrop with these lit giraffe play fighting on the airstrip.

The light was perfect from the west as the clouds rolled in from the east providing the contrast on this Baobab.

Thankfully that’s all they were, clouds. They rolled on past leaving us dry.
Again at dawn the clouds rolled in, but this time it seems like a front is upon us with temperatures somewhat cooler this morning.

If the male No. 1 leaves the female to follow Male No. 2, how will a new pride be established?
males often keep to themselves patrolling their territory and then join up with the pride on kills or mating and at times to chill out. these males are new in the area so probably spending quite some time claiming their territory. manyari will hopefully join up with them again. And when she has cubs. That’s what i hope will happen.
