It’s been 4 days on the trot and the mating pair are still at it, although both looking rather exhausted.

The couple spent another night in the same place, while the male’s brother kept moving away and calling. The couple responded early in the evening but then gave up on him.

So how many more days will they be at it? And why do they need to be at it so intensely for so long? This is making 300% sure the dude is successful.

Of course it didn’t help my claustrophobic state. I sure wish these dudes would get out of there now.

With the last rains of the season probably past now, we’re in for a long dry season, with future rains only expected in November.
All the pans in the veld are drying up fast, which is probably why there were so many zebra on Banyini this morning congregating around the waterhole.
