Giraffe Ablaze: Video

I was going to say I had the day off today. Well in a way it felt like that, but actually I was doing more of what I don’t like than what I do like.

Golden Orb
The morning started off horse riding which was actually for the Series we’re doing with Animal Planet. All good fun though. This was the part where I tell the story of my grandfather’s incident with the lion. Luckily I didn’t have to re-enact the whole thing with real lions.
The rest of my day was spent cooped up in the office! (The video clip is the one I shot yesterday.)
Giraffe ablaze
But it really isn’t that bad when I know I can get out at any time and I’m instantly in the wilds of Africa. Yes I know I’m spoilt.
At sunset I did just that for the last hour of the day and surprisingly there wasn’t a single animal on the airstrip, but they were on Banyini.

  • Hola Kim,

Spellbinding. At one point you are as one entranced by the beat of the drum and the illusion of the sunset seemingly flowing away from you while the giraffe drift ever so slowly toward you.

    Aaaahhha.

  • Spoilt, you are! I dream of being in Africa every day. My house is full of Africa Geographic and Travel Africa and BBC Wildlife Magazines, that is as close as I can get to being there for now! :- )
