New Years day. Hmmm…..not much happened today. I worked on recovering.
It was only shortly before sunset that I got out with the girls and even that didn’t last as Lindy soon got us stuck in some heavy mud. While she wandered around looking for logs to put under the tyres I was hard at work digging us out.
We were just out in time to watch the most beautiful sunset of the year! Bandam pan.
This clip of the lions trying their luck with the tortoise was from yesterday. Finding the lions early in the afternoon they were chewing on this tortoise and continued to do so for several hours with little success.
They just can’t open their jaws wide enough. Also the shell being hard, rounded and smooth meant they just couldn’t get any traction on it as they took turns trying their luck. Eventually they gave up leaving the tortoise with a gaping hole in its shell but with all its organs still in tact. So there is a chance it could survive.
