Marabou Storks are always patrolling the shores of Malilangwe dam, and successful as they are at scavenging they are at hunting. Ducklings and other young defenceless animals sometimes make it on their menu. The dam is well stocked with fish and any seen floundering in the shallows are quickly snapped up by the Marabous huge bills.

My travels are nearly over. I’m now safely in South Africa and head back to Zimbabwe tomorrow. My daughters will accompany me for a few days as we need to film some specific sequences with them and their mad dad in the bush for our Series with Animal Planet that is already well into post-production.

Hi Kim
Glad you had a safe landing back in Africa.
About mad dads, we had last sunday some kids playing with our son. We had a lot of fun and I heard one kid ,5 years old, saying to my son ‘your dad is very mad’
Children always seem to speak the truth,
kind regards,
Douwe
