Adult elephants arrive at mud wallows and first seem to test the mud, flinging little bits onto their bodies here and there.
But the calves have no time to waste on such idle behaviour and right from the word go plunge into the mud sliding, rolling and falling everywhere. What a party, and it usually sets the tone for the adults to follow when they realise they’re missing out on this mud extravaganza.
A miserable rainy day outside in Grand Teton country and more snow is falling on the mountains right now. No doubt tomorrow will be stunning. I just wish it would snow down here at our level. I so want to play in the snow.
