Rhino calf on edge: Video

I’m back and I know it! I miss the place the second I leave and this time it was more so. Maybe they call it age! Whatever the case, Malilangwe is still a very special place for me.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get out as much as I’d have liked today, what with servicing vehicles and punctures to fix.

While doing these chores I looked out across the dam to see elephants at the top end. Of course I raced around there but only in time to have them already having drunk and bathed and now heading back into the hills.

I was out again in the late afternoon searching for something in that stunning late light.
But there wasn’t much forthcoming until at sunset this rhino and her tiny calf came to drink at Hwata pan. These little rhino calves look ultra cute with their Antbear like ears. But the light was fading fast and all but gone when they got to drink.
