I ventured out early into a very overcast dawn. I hadn’t been out 20 minutes when the cloud base lowered itself over the whole reserve and stayed there for the rest of the day scattering a constant drizzle.

This was a totally unworkable situation and I was back in the office all day freezing.
In the late afternoon I went to get rid of piles of energy. I just love jogging in the rain. There’s something about it that just makes you want to go and go. And I did.

As usual chatting to John Boy & Billy on The Big Show was a blast and glad to be getting some good images out.
Rather disappointed when the power supply went down, but then this is Africa. All the technology in the world doesn’t mean things have to work, especially in Africa.

Tjololo slept for the early part of the evening but then got moving heading north along the eastern boundary and then into the Kapen river where he rested up at dawn. We were obviously still concerned about his health and were watching him closely. He initially seemed to have problems drinking. He was reluctant to stick his tounge out all the way. We saw the same thing when he was grooming. Possibly got some throat infection. But by this morning he seemed a lot better and was calling. He’s still not a 100% and we’ll be keeping a close watch on him.
