I have so much admin to catch up with that I’ve decided to spend a few days at the “office”, but an office with a difference.
Today I spent the day at Khayeni hide and while waiting was able to accomplish loads of other work that needed attending to.
But when the game came drink, I changed focus and captured what I could.

It was quiet up until about 11am when a small herd of impala came in, drank and left.
Then a troop of baboons arrived and even from about 100m away they were aware of my presence in the hide. They have such amazing eyesight.

This kept them on edge and they weren’t going to chance it to drink. So they waited and waited. One would come and drink and then take off. Later another. But very much in dribs and drabs that after 3 hours only about 5 had drunk.
It was only in the late afternoon, they were now really thirsty, when a herd of impala came in did they build up enough confidence to come and drink. And drink they did!

Then left in a hurry as all this waiting meant they had hardly fed today.
Many herds of impala drank here today but very little other game. One lone zebra and a small family of warthogs and the baboons of course.
