The Tjololo Diaries

11th June 2000
Tjololo must have been resting the last couple of days in preparation for his marathon walk tonight. At sunset around 17h00 he headed north, and then west on the Charleston/Flockfield boundary and then north again. Travelling from the south eastern corner of his territory to the north western corner. Even when we lost him going into the Sand river the next morning around 7h00 he was still on the move.

Going was often tough as he took us through some horrendous bush that felt like it was ripping the vehicle apart, and then through dongas so steep sided it felt as if we would topple head over heals. These Toyota’s of ours just take every challenge we throw at them, in their stride.
