Vultures Cleaning Up: Video

Vultures play and integral role in cleaning up the bush, preventing carcasses from lying around and unwanted diseases spreading.

One amazing partnership amongst the scavengers in the African bush is the one between Hyenas and Vultures. Vultures are depending on these scavengers to open up carcasses for them because they do not have the ability to do it themselves. Once opened it doesn’t take long to completely clean up the carcass.

Vultures Feeding

As dusk approach, the Vultures would seek out a roosting spot close by, hoping that the food would still be there in the morning. Hyenas will take over the night shift of doing the cleaning work.
