It was night of rest again for us.

The Nduna pride spent all night resting up in the Mulovela drainage system. Although the cubs did at times get a little restless and played.
The only energy the adults were expending was a team roar about every half hour.
But then about 3am they pulled the slip on us. We were in deep sleep, even on my camera box. It’s amazing how comfortable it can be when you’re tired.
After much searching till after dawn I still wasn’t able to pick them up.

So tonight we’ll be picking up the search again.
While on the search down to Chipunyuluzi pan I came across this impressive Sable bull.

And this buffalo herd was also hanging out there. There were on high alert on seeing me.

But why? They have this instinctive fear for man and strange things. It upsets me that when just wanting to watch them doing what they do, they often leave in a panic ‘cos of their fear for man and vehicle. Over time they will eventually chill out but they just don’t see enough traffic to expedite this process. But then that’s also the great thing that we are of the privileged few who do traverse Malilangwe Reserve.

On the way home the elephant were at Chekwa pan. A favourite place for them as it dries up.
