The rains didn’t stop the bunny!

A gentle drizzle showered us for most of the day but this didn’t stop the Easter bunny from doing his rounds even here in the middle of the African bush.

So it was the girls on a chocolate HIGH for the rest of the day.

Hi Kim. This comment isn’t related to your video but I was wondering if you have been watching that show, “Planet Earth” on the Discovery channel. If so, I was wondering what your thoughts were on it.
Kim,
Great video, did you shoot it damside or from a pontoon? and was that Pamushana in the background?
How do the Ele’s normally get on with Hippo in the water? They seemed to leave in a hurry.
Kim, I too was wondering if you get to see other nature shows? On pbs last weekend they showed “Unforgettable Elephants” filmed by Martyn Colbeck. It had amazing footage from Amboseli Park. Do you get a chance to watch other films such as these? You had said you havent seen “Eye of the Leopard” some time ago. Have you seen it yet?
How is the shoulder coming? And how much filming have you been able to do recently?
Take care
Paige
I can’t tell you how you brighten my day when I can watch your excellent films each morning here in California. I have only visited Kenya and never got into the bush as deeply as you. Many thanks for all you share.
Kevin. Unfortunately don’t get to watch TV being in the bush most of the time. Have seen part of one programme and heard a lot about it. What I saw was stunning. The new technology available today to shoot rock steady from a helicopter has meant some incredible footage.
Tom. I was shooting from the shoreline of the dam. Yes that was Pamushana. Generally hippo get out of the way of the elephant. I don’t think the elephant were leaving ‘cos of the hippo, something else spooked them.
Paige. No don’t get to see other shows. But I know Martyn and love his work. He’s made several elephant films now and all stunning. Recently did get to see parts of “Eye of the Leopard”. Amazing sequence with the leopard and baby baboon.
Shoulder coming on strong and hope by the end of the week to get out at night again full time following lions.
Kim, I myself have not seen this but through the grape vine I heard that on one of the episodes of “Planet Earth” there is the first ever footage of a wild dog hunt and kill. Could this really be that this has never been captured on film until now? Your thoughts?
Paige
I’m sure they’ve been clever in their exact wording of that as it’s not the first time it’s been filmed. We filmed it in the Okavango many years ago. Filmed an impala kill from the ground. But then also filmed from a Microlight aircraft wild dogs pulling down a young buffalo in water. And I know there are others too who have filmed it.
I do believe though that it’s an amazing sequence shot from the air and the ground at the same time. And the aerial stuff is mind blowing with the new technology available.
