Like all cats, Lions lick themselves to get clean. Licking each other also serves to strengthen bonds between members of the pride.
The surface is covered by tiny spines that get exposed as the tongue is bent in different directions. This helps to separate meat from bone and to get rid of pesky parasites lurking in their fur.

Females will also lick their newborn cubs after they drank to stimulate their digestive system. This also serves as bonding between mother and cubs.

The Lions aswell as your photography are truly amazing. I keep staring at it, its so beautifull i can’t look away.
That lion’s fangs don’t seem to be very well-developed.
In the first part of the video when you can see the teeth closely it looks as if the lower adult canine teeth are starting to erupt. Is this a young adult lion? At what age do they loose their baby teeth? Do you know the age of this lion?
Hey Kim if you’re keeping track of us here hope you’re having a nice time away.
Cheers
Paige
This is a young lion. Not sure what age. Probably close to a year old.
