This sure looks like something out of Star Wars. What is this strange looking animal? It really doesn’t resemble any known African animal.
And yet it is very purposefully drawn. The legs and tail are delicately done, but then this huge body? And neck and head almost giraffe-like. But it’s depicted alongside the scene of the elephant hunt. Surely again this must be something seen in a trance.
I think the only answer to understanding these paintings is to get spaced out myself!
