The giraffe in this display have been drawn with such delicate detail that I’d be surprised if this ‘hunter’ was done at the same time. Or was he maybe supposed to look like this to portray someone seen in a trance.
And any ideas what those sketches to the right of the hunter are?

One theory was that while in a trance they would feel some powerful sensations in their heads like it was exploding and this represents that, was not my theory (no big expert on what it feels like to be on a major high) but the only explanation I ever came across.

Thanks for that Mark. Sounds a lot more realistic than what I could come up with. Let me know when you’ve tried out some of that ’stuff’. You may have a different outlook on all these paintings.
