24th January 2000
Times still bleak. Having just been through a whole night with only half an hours sleep, one would imagine meant a very productive session. Analysing it, it proved rather pathetic and again the camera didn’t venture out of its box all night.

Mala Mala’s guests were privileged to spend the early evening hours with the “one who stands alone” – Tjololo.
Following up on him, he continued north west patrolling and again extending his territory to the north. For quite some time while he followed the Sand river we weren’t able to keep up and spent much time searching for him. The whole process proved rather hazardous on our tyres with Dale and I getting 2 punctures each.

For yet another night Tjololo goes hungry. Reflecting back on the evening too, we haven’t seen any impala since leaving camp in the afternoon. This is very unusual.
