The elephants spent this cool day in the sandveld.

And eat and eat is what they did all day. But with the temperatures being a lot cooler the calves were full of fun and all of them playing with each other.

Even some of the bulls took time out to wrestle.

When these sands are moist after rain, the elephant love to search for tubers, which are then so much easier to dig out. And Chipfongwe took full advantage of each hole his mother dug, either to find scraps of tubers or just to roll in the cool moist soils.

I left the elephant at dusk and just down the way found an adult male lion. He was lying down but hearing the elephant approaching, he was up and ducked off into the thick mopanie. Not even time for a photo.

What a typical little baby. A boy baby at that. It is fun to watch the little fellow learn all about being an elephant. Thanks, Kim, for sharing these clips. I look forward to seeing a new one every evening.

Kim, this is a different subject, but in my daily email Wildcast update at the bottom of the update there is a media file that says “Play now.” Well, I have, and I can’t figure it out except for some heavy breathing. (I don’t think I want to go any further with speculation…. :-))
Can you maybe clarify what this media file is? I know, not proper English, but oh, well, lol.

Hmmmmmm…… I really don’t know what this is but not what you were thinking. It’s a video clip of very pixelated animated stuff with music. Don’t know what it’s about.
I had that same thing at the end of mine. Since I’m on a Mac and less concerned about viruses, I clicked it and got what Kim said….pixelated video of “something” and heavy breathing….like someone running. It’s a flash file from something called “blip tv”. I have no idea why it’s there but suspect it ought not to be.
also Kim, I get the video and the pic with story twice in each email. Since I save the emails so I have the videos on my Mac, I’m afraid it makes too big a file for each one to be there twice. Anyone else getting this?
Paula
I just all your videos, it give more insight into the wildlife there. That calf is really a typical boy. Reminds me of my grandsons (all 4)
Thank you so much.
So many thugs. We were 3 boys too so I know what it’s all about.
