It’s just one of those days where you know you’ve been productive but you don’t have anything to show for it.
The dogs had done it all last night. By the time I got there at dawn they were all bellies up watching the sunrise. And bellies was about all you could see, they had fed so well. If she weren’t so black, BB would have passed as a hyaena with her swollen tummy.
So that was them for the morning. The pups were up to a little activity every now and then but heavy tummies = big sleep.

Split
All I was able to shoot today was the vultures perched against the morning sunrise. Which was actually quite pretty with the sun sending a burst of orange onto the fast moving clouds and the vultures silhouetted against that.

What we gonna do?
And that was all I shot on video today. I did get a few identification photos of the dogs too.
Back at camp the monthly chores crept in and the vehicles had to be serviced and maintained. They take such a bashing in the bush, especially when following the dogs hunting that they require constant maintenance. And there’s no calling the local mechanic down the road, we have to do it ourselves.
The afternoon with the dogs didn’t prove any more productive than this morning. Well actually it was less productive as I wasn’t even able to get any identification photos. They were all resting under little bushes and all the scrub hid the little activity they did get up to.
No doubt they’ll be out hunting tonight with the moon up again. (We are gearing up to work with them at night in the next couple of days.)
